The drawings were used as patterns or models for tapestries, paintings, and staining glass. Cartoons by famous painters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael are very valuable. Cartoons that were used for producing tapestry were usually done in color and the weavers followed them with their eyes.
In the United Kingdom comic strips were often called cartoon strips. They are found in newspapers all over the world. These cartoon or comic strips a series of illustrations showing a sequence of events. In the United States they are not usually called cartoons as often as they are called “comics” or “funnies”. However, the creators of comic books, comic strips, and graphic novels are called cartoonists. Animated movies and comic strips are a lot alike so both became known as cartoons. . The true meaning of animation is any kind of animated images that move so quickly the characters seem to be moving. The word cartoon is most often used when speaking of short TV shows for kids.
To the delight of kids and adults all over the world, cartoons have gone from very primitive drawings in the time of such famous painters as Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael to the high-tech feature films such as “The Princess and the Frog”. It is very common for a famous actor of actress to be cast as the voice for cartoon characters in animated movies.
